This year, we had the opportunity to showcase our expertise at the “Factory Innovation Award”. This award is one of the most prestigious smart factory software awards in Europe and was presented on the Digital Transformation Stage at the Hannover Messe trade fair. The award was organized by the Center for Industry 4.0 at the University of Potsdam in cooperation with the Berlin-based GITO publishing house and the trade journal FACTORY INNOVATION. We and other companies competed in various categories, pitching our innovations to convince the 16-member jury.
This year, too, much revolved around the topics of Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Transformation. Alongside EDAG Engineering GmbH, I-care Group, ISG Industrielle Steuerungstechnik GmbH, and PSI Software SE | BU Discrete Manufacturing, we at SYNERPY GmbH were also among the participating companies. The award is presented in various categories, divided into users, vendors, research, training, and audience favorite. In the Industry 4.0 category, we presented our ERP software in collaboration with ti4f GmbH and Hait GmbH. This software solves the problem of automatically generating work plans and planning resources based on CAD drawings, with subsequent machine data collection and analysis. The common process in the machining industry is the manual creation of work plans based on CAD drawings produced by the design department. We have almost completely automated this step by analyzing and categorizing the drawing and checking it against a database of manufacturing options. The end product is a complete work plan in the ERP system, which forms the basis for production.
